The new 10-foot sea container is made of CORTEN anti-corrosive steel as it has better anti-rust properties than conventional steel. This helps to improve the longevity of containers designated as having been used once.
The floors of the containers are composed of 19 plies of marine-grade Keruing-Apitong plywood. The quality of this plywood surpasses that of ordinary plywood because it has a high density, which results in a very low month content that prevents the development of fungi and the attack of termites. This is why they are able to to withstand frequent cargo loads and sea shipments.
